Vancouver & CPC 2016

The ocean stirs the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.

I’m not even sure how to start this post. This past week was such an amazing emotional roller coaster for me.

I was able to attend Canada Photo Convention thanks to my amazing husband for getting me a ticket, and to my parents and in-laws for helping to watch the girls while I was away. CPC is not only something I have dreamed of going to for 5 years, it was in Vancouver… If you haven’t heard me say it yet, I love Van. So I was so excited and also nauseously nervous to attend, especially to attend by myself when I can be one of those closet introverts that just doesn’t know how to talk to people without having word vomit come out and saying something stupid or inappropriate. Anyways! First day in and after crying a couple times from missing my girls and Bunthoeun I was able to make a friend, who accidentally whacked me and thought they hit me in the face when I was really just wiping my tears away. From here friendships only grew, along with these friendships came super dirty jokes, sharing the experiences of becoming nothing short of inspired by the speakers, burritos, walks and photos during the golden hours, tons and tons of laughs, and $2 pizza & then some more food.  I don’t know how I would have gotten through this week away from my family if it wasn’t for my family and all the new friends I made, and all the mind blowing things i learnt and heard during CPC. I feel like I took so much home and incidentally also a bigger heart. For everyone. Family, friends and clients -my clients are also my friends. I hope to any of my photo friends who read this will become such inspired as I was to attend CPC and join the wolfpack.
